UniversalProcon broadens business development focus within meeting technology division with appointment of UK based sales and marketing executive

02/02/2009

Stamford, CT, January 27, 2009:  UniversalProcon (UP), owned by United Drug of Dublin, is a leading healthcare meeting and event solutions company in both the US and UK.  Trifecta MultiMedical (TMM) is the virtual meetings and technology division of UniversalProcon.  It is through the TMM arm that strategic virtual meeting solutions are provided to service a growing need for low cost, high tech meetings in the clinical and marketing arenas.

In an effort to further deepen TMM’s sales and marketing presence in the UK and Europe, a UK based sales and marketing executive has been appointed.  Rowenne Brockfield has been with UniversalProcon as a Project Manager on a major Pharma client for the past two and a half years.  Through her success in growing that account and with a full understanding of medical meetings and the challenges the industry faces, it was a natural move for Rowenne into a sales focused role.  Rowenne’s primary objective is to help support TMM’s growing presence in the UK and EU markets and to provide better strategic planning for those clients, existing and new.

UniversalProcon and Trifecta MultiMedical are looking forward to Rowenne’s role in the expansion of TMM’s products in the virtual meetings marketplace.

15/08/2008

Coming together, for a brighter stronger future

From 1 October 2008, two United Drug companies within the Sales and Marketing Services Division, Universal CIT and Procon, will merge to form one company and become a powerful player in the world of healthcare event management.

Both companies offer expertise in their respective fields including venue finding, event logistics through to creative marketing, production and travel services. This move provides an exciting opportunity to combine the skills to offer a bigger, better and more complete service to new and existing clients.

The new company will be called UniversalProcon Ltd in the UK and UniversalProcon Inc in the US and will continue to operate from the two UK offices in Harrogate and Slough, as well as our three US offices in Stamford CT, Indianapolis IN and Orlando FL.

Speaking about the future, Mike Ford, Universal’s current Managing Director who will head up the soon to be renamed UniversalProcon said: “We truly believe that by coming together, UniversalProcon will be the leading healthcare full-service event management agency, providing a wider range of services to a growing audience spanning the UK, US, Europe and beyond. In the coming months we look forward to revealing our new brand identity to support our new look organisation.”

Universal CIT Ltd Acquired by United Drug PLC

01/01/2008

Leading pharma specialist agency Universal CIT Ltd has announced its acquisition by United Drug plc, a leading provider of services to the pharmaceutical industry in the UK, US, Ireland and Continental Europe.

In acquiring Universal, United Drug will add to its existing meetings and events offering, having acquired the Harrogate-based pharmaceutical conference service company Procon Conferences, in November 2007.

Speaking about the acquisition, United Drug Chief Executive, Liam FitzGerald said: “We are delighted to announce the acquisition of Universal. This acquisition allows us to further pursue our strategy of building a range of marketing related services around our core sales offering within the Contract Sales & Marketing Services division and continue to benefit from the trend amongst pharmaceutical manufacturers to outsource non-core functions.”

Under the new ownership, Universal will retain its name and brand. Its key management team will remain in place, as will its account teams.

Universal’s Managing Director Mike Ford commented; “Belonging to a larger group with such obvious synergies, will not only enhance our commercial positioning, but also strengthen our knowledge and involvement in the pharmaceutical sector.

“Universal is already the UK’s largest pharma agency specialist, but this move will substantially increase our potential for growth and development.”

Mike Ford went onto to add “As far as our focus and our client service delivery are concerned, it will be a matter of business-as-usual. In the medium and longer term, however, we are confident that our clients will benefit from an enhanced service offering through our broader geographical reach and consolidated purchasing power.”

Universal CIT Ltd has been organising international business events for over 30 years. The company currently employs more than 140 staff, with a UK head office in Slough and US bases in Stamford CT, Indianapolis and Orlando.
